What a strong accountant shortlist looks like
Each candidate on your shortlist has passed a practical test, holds or is studying for a recognised qualification, and has experience with your accounting system or one close to it. You see test results and manager references alongside the CV.
- Qualifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA or CA confirmed
- VAT return preparation experience
- Corporate tax exposure or clear grounding in it
- Hands-on use of Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks, SAP or Oracle
How we test accountants
Candidates complete a reconciliation, a short journal exercise and a VAT scenario based on UAE rules. For senior roles we add a month-end close discussion covering accruals, intercompany balances and reporting timetables.
References come from finance managers who reviewed the candidate's work directly.
UAE-based accountants
A UAE-based accountant suits roles that involve banks, auditors and suppliers in person, or a finance team that sits together. We confirm notice period, visa status and certificate attestation before shortlisting.
Remote accountants from South Africa and the Philippines
Bookkeeping, AP/AR, reconciliations and management reporting work well remotely. South African chartered accountants qualify through SAICA under IFRS and work almost the same hours as you, while Filipino CPAs are a strong fit for high-volume transactional work.
