Full-time remote staff for UAE companies

We recruit remote employees in the Philippines and South Africa who work only for you, on your hours and in your systems. You add capacity without adding desks or visas.

What remote staff means at Rotana

A remote hire through Rotana is a full-time person dedicated to one employer. They join your meetings, use your email and software, follow your processes and report to your manager, exactly as an office hire would.

Because they live and work in their own country, there is no UAE work permit or residence visa to arrange, and no desk to find. You still interview them, choose them and manage their work.

Roles that work well remotely

The best remote roles are ones where the output can be seen in a system: a reconciled ledger, a closed support ticket, a merged pull request. Roles that need a physical presence in the UAE, such as site engineering or nursing, stay local.

  • Accountants, bookkeepers and AP/AR staff
  • Customer service agents for phone, chat, email and WhatsApp
  • Software developers, QA testers and IT support
  • Executive assistants and office administrators
  • HR coordinators, procurement support and marketing executives

Working across time zones

South Africa is two hours behind UAE time, so an ordinary South African working day sits almost entirely inside yours. The Philippines is four hours ahead, which means a UAE day is worked as an afternoon and evening shift there, something Filipino professionals are used to from years of serving overseas clients.

Some employers use the gap deliberately: a Philippines-based support agent can start before your UAE office opens and hand over to the team as it arrives.

How we screen remote candidates

Remote work removes the chance to see someone at a desk, so we check more up front. Every candidate sits a skills test for the role, an English assessment, and a structured video interview with a Rotana consultant.

We also check the practical set-up: a quiet workspace, a reliable internet connection with a backup, and a computer that meets your security requirements. References come from previous managers, ideally ones who managed them remotely.

Managing remote staff day to day

You set the hours, the tasks and the targets. Most clients give remote staff company email and access to the same tools the UAE team uses, with permissions limited to what the role needs.

For data protection, decide early which systems the remote employee can reach and whether customer data must stay on company devices or a virtual desktop. We can talk through what other UAE employers do at the brief stage.

Questions employers ask

Do remote staff need a UAE visa?

No. They live and work in the Philippines or South Africa, so there is no UAE work permit or residence visa involved. If you later want to bring someone to the UAE, that becomes a local hire with normal sponsorship.

Will a remote employee work for other companies too?

No. The people we place are full-time and dedicated to one employer. They work your hours and only on your business.

Which country should we hire from, the Philippines or South Africa?

It depends on the role and the hours you need covered. South Africa overlaps almost fully with a UAE day and is strong for accounting, development and executive support, while the Philippines has deep customer service and admin talent and suits extended or early coverage.

Can we interview the candidates ourselves?

Yes, and we expect you to. We present a screened shortlist, you interview by video, and you make the final choice.
